Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority

Franklin Lakes Sanitary Sewer Project

The Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority has awarded a contract in the amount of 3.8 million dollars for the construction of a Sanitary Sewer Collection System which will serve the Central Business District in the municipality of Franklin Lakes.

The System will consist of gravity sewer lines serving Franklin and Susquehanna Avenues and a pump station and force main to convey the sanitary sewage to our waste water treatment plant in Waldwick, NJ.

Funding for the project is through the New Jersey Environment Infrastructure Trust which provides loans for environmental projects at well below market rates.

The new system will have an initial capacity of 90,000 gallons per day and is expandable to a capacity of 300,000 gallons per day.  The additional flow would have no impact on our treatment plant which has a capacity of 16.8 million gallons per day and is presently operating at about 65% capacity.

Reference drawings describing the system are attached.
